Copper is used as a filler because it is always overstated about the yield strength needed for compression.

If you take copper filling solutions Brinnell Hardness of approx 134, multiply this by 500 and you will get Compressive Yield Strength (PSI) so this example gives a 67000 PSI.

"O" ring seal strength is approx 2000 PSI.
